What is a pendulum?
A pendulum is a dowsing tool that allows us to connect with the universal intelligence, the collective unconsciousness if you will, and our own High Self Committee, in a way we can see and feel. When our connection is clear, the answers we get can become very strong and we can feel the pendulum’s pull in a certain direction.
Another way to understand pendulums is to imagine them as a TV antenna. This antenna can receive invisible vibrational waves and transmit them into images, much like the inherent electrical current of our brain acts as a receiver, for which the pendulum serves as a transmitter and detector.
Albert Einstein, avid user of dowsing tools, believed that pendulums tuned into the electromagnetic waves emitted by everyone and everything.
No one knows with certainty however how pendulums really work. What we do know is that they have been working for centuries. But even if we don’t understand how they work, just as we don’t know how a television or radio works, we can still take advantage of their capabilities which can surprise us with their accuracy.
The secrets to a «strong» dowsing reaction
The secret to extra power in a pendulum’s reaction lies in part in its symmetry. Also, a cone-shaped pendulum is an easier tool to use by beginners. These two characteristics, symmetry and shape are considered ideal by novices who feel them as the most «receptive» ones. Also, pendulums must be of a certain weight. The newer the dowsers, the heavier the pendulums they prefer, since they feel that they don’t lose control of the pendulum’s motion. These three characteristics allow novice dowsers to excel.
For experienced users, however, shape or size rarely matters as they can overcome any constructional singularities. However, they prefer very lightweight pendulums, since constant use can burden wrists and fingertips.
Dowsing is a science
Dowsing is foremost a science, as anything else would be, and as such, it requires proper training and a willingness to adhere to procedures. Also, thorough knowledge and understanding of natural laws, as well as knowledge and practice of divine laws, ensure a clear and consistent connection and answers that are relevant and without interference.
Anyone can work with a pendulum, however, learning to work with it is like learning a musical instrument. It requires much practice and experimentation. Questions and errors are part of the learning process. The results dowsers get reflect their spiritual and general development stages.
